Grey Symbol - Proxy Server

This is when your symbol will NOT let you connect to the internet and gives you a proxy error message.

To add a proxy to your PDA:

Start > Settings > Connections > Edit My Proxy Server
> Tick All Options in that screen
> Server > Advanced > http Server > Enter the Server IP
> Check your port settings, default is 80 but if yours is set to 81 then your IP Adreess would read

E.G. 168.192.10.5:81

Key Words: proxy, symbol proxy, proxy setup

If the PDA starts asking for a Proxy Server or the Wifi Status shows some red indicators and you have tried all the setup above then do a cold reset. Open the Battery cover and you will see a reset button on the right hand side as you are looking at the battery compartment (leave the battery in)
Now hold down the key opposite the On/Off button and click the reset. After releasing the reset then release the key on the front.
Now restart the PDA and you should have to go through some setup proceedures e.g. a demo of the cut and paste option and the alignment as usual. Once thats done go into the connection setup as in the previous post and set the connectionto the 801 Wifi and estart the PDA. Now start the setup again.

The Symbol PDA runs Pocket PC so does not have a desktop like the CE operating system. Once Stock PDA is installed it is available from the Start drop down menu.

The Symbol PDA required the V4.2 Cab File and then Stock PDA. Copy down the Cab file first and extract it and then the Stock PDA. Same process as the Falcon.
