How to setup Wireless Network Connection
----------------------------------------

To create a new wireless connection;

1.Starting at the desktop click on the Wireless icon (Signal Bars) which will bring up the "Status" screen.
Or another way is to click "My Computer" > FileStore > MyPDA > Wireless Settings

2.From the "Status" screen click the "Configure Wireless Networks" link which is located towards the bottom of the screen.
This will bring up the "Configue Wireless Networks" screen.

3.You can either create a new profile by clicking "Add" or "Edit" an existing profile.
This will bring up the "Add/Edit Configuration" screen.

4.Type in a profile name (default is ok).

5.From the "Wireless Mode" dropdown menu select the "Access Point" option.
This will set the connection type as WAP (Wireless Access Point).

6.After selecting the wireless mode click next > click the "Scan" button under the Network Name textbox.
This will open a screen that scans the local area for wireless servers.

7.Select the Name of the network you want > click Next.

8.Click the checkbox at the top of the screen that says "Wireless Security (WEP)".

9.Click on the "Use Hexidecimal (0-9, A-F)" button > Enter your WEP key in the "Key 1" field.
NOTE: WEP passwords are case sensitive.

10.The last drop down menu will display numbers (1-4) this just means;
If you have inserted your WEP in the "Key 1" field then the number 1 in the menu refers to key 1 as you WEP.

11.The next sceen is about power management which is a personal preference (Off by Default) > Click finish.

12. After this you can close any open windows > click your wiresless icon (signal bars) to check the status of you newly setup connection.
It will take a few moments to connect to the a network.

 

HOW TO INSTALL Stocktake PDA and Cab Files
------------------------------------------

How to Download and Setup PDA 2.2 Cab Files for PDA 4.2


1.Open Internet Explorer and goto http://peachsoftware.net.au/downloads

2.Click PDACabFilesV4.2

3.Select the download option "Open file from current location" or "Save to Disk"(Not required)

4.Once the download is complete it will prompt the user for a location to install the software

5.Select "Windows" as your install location > leave the name and file type boxes blank

 

How to download Peach PDA Stocktake software


1.Open Internet Explorer

2.Goto http://peachsoftware.net.au/downloads

3.Scroll down to PDA Stocktake Program and click to download.

4.Click ok and save to disk (default location is "File Store")

5.Close Internet > from desktop open "My Computer" > Open File Store and locate "stockpda"

6.Using the stylus click and hold stockpda > select copy from the menu

7.Goto desktop > Using stylus click and hold in a blank area > Select "Paste Shorcut"

8.Use the shortcut to access the progam.

9.A warning may come up asking for an IP Address > Click ok and continue.

 

How To Adjust Contrast and Memory Settings on PDA
-------------------------------------------------

To Adjust Contrast

1.From the desktop click "My Documents" > File Store > MyPDA > click the "Backlight Contrast" shortcut
This will open the "Dimming" screen

2.There are 2 tabs to control contrast of the LCD and Keypad lights > simply use the slide to adjust these settings.

 

How To Adjust Memory (Storage and Program)

1.From the desktop click and hold "My Computer" > Porperties
This will open the "System Properties" screen.

2.Select the "Memory" tab at the top of the screen > use the slider to adjust memory.
NOTE:  "Storage Memory" is the physical amount of memory e.g. Files, Programs
 "Program Memory" is the virtual amount of memory e.g. How many applications you can have running at the same time.

 

STOCKTAKE PDA
--------------

If the PDA is set to Area BRANCH lets say and you are using a consignment system, then if use Location for areas = Y the PDA can save the location to the correct area within the location. Where a product has stock in 3 Consignment Areas and each has its own Bin Location then the area that your branch is set to will view in the Consolidated view as well as the local view.  

1. Run the stocktake program and goto the setp menu > Area || Consignment Area

2. In CTM or checking VIA pbsusers locate the area for the customer and assign it to the PDA.
